Tucson Voshito

On September 30 we held a one-day clinic (Voshito) for refugees resettling in Tucson. Flyers went out through the International Refugee Committee, Jewish Family and Children's Services, and Lutheran Social Services, in English, Spanish, Ukrainian, Pashto, Dari, Arabic, and Swahili.

By 5 pm we had seen 185 refugees, staffed by 6 optometrists, one retired optometrist, one ophthalmologist, 2 opticians, 13 optometry students, 6 translators, and 6 general volunteers. Alcon donated eye drops, Lesco Optical made lenses for $11-13, and VOSH International provided a $1,000 grant.
